Lilly Library Manuscript Collections


The Coster mss., 1877-1938, consist of letters to Robert Coster, 1851?-1928, Lincoln collector, relating to Lincoln, and letters to Paul Coster, his nephew, relating to Lincoln and to John Sherman.

Other materials include a Royal Permit in 1877 for Alexander Arthur to conduct business in Sweden, and a photograph of Ida Minerva Tarbell inscribed to Robert Coster in 1906.

The correspondents are George Edwin Bissell, S. Budel, Francis Bicknell Carpenter, Thomas Powderly Martin, John Torrey Morse, Helen Nicolay, Silas Gamaliel Pratt, and Albert Weinert.
