CZECH MSS.

The Czech mss., ca. 1900-21st century, consist of individual items by Czech writers, artists, etc., written in the Czech language and acquired from a variety of sources.

Included in the collection are:

Nezval, Vitězslav, 1900-1958. "Dobrodruzstvi noci a vejire [The Adventures of the Night and the Fan]," 1931. A.D. 42.3 cm. [17p.] Bound. Colophon: "Vitězslav Nezval's poem...with a drawing and 14 initials [was executed by] Alfred Schiefner in January and February 1931...."

Seifert, Jaroslav, 1901-1986. Hvezdy nad rajskov zahradov , 1929. A.D.S. 16.5 cm. [157p.] In black ink with corrections, deletions and changes throughout, some in pencil. The manuscript of Nobel Prize-winning author's only published novel.
