DAVIS MSS.
The Davis mss., 1814-1902, consist of letters and papers of Emily Davis, teacher and Quaker, of Liberty, Indiana. They are, in the main, letters to Miss Davis from relatives and former schoolmates at the Liberty Seminary, several of whom were teaching school at the time in various places in Indiana. Included also are an agreement, March 13, 1854, between the school employers at New Hope, Union County, Indiana, and Emily Davis, engaging her to teach there, and her Union County teachers' license, Oct. 24, 1863.
