Lilly Library Manuscript Collections


The Di Prima mss. II, 1980-2014, are the correspondence of American writer, poet, and editor, Diane Di Prima. Di Prima has published several books and collections of poems and is well known for her involvement with the Beat Movement, the Jack Kerouac School of the Disembodied Poetics, and the newspaper The Floating Bear.

This collection consists primarily of correspondence and postcards sent from Di Prima to her son, Alexander Marlowe. The collection also consists of photographs and audio cassette tapes, including a recording of Di Prima reading from her book, Loba.
