FAIRBANKS COMPANY MSS.
The Fairbanks Company mss., 1917-1931, consist of records of the company of that name which manufactured piano plates at Springfield, Ohio.
On October 10, 1928, proceedings to liquidate the company were started, and on December 29, 1928, the property was sold to the Indianapolis Switch and Frog Company. Active piano plate patterns, match plates, iron flasks, follow boards, marking patterns, drill jigs, boring templates, and similar chattels used in the manufacture of piano plates were transferred to Melvin L. Milligan as an agent for the O. S. Kelly Company to sell piano plates, parts, etc. to the customers of the Fairbanks Company.
The papers consist of minutes of meetings of the stockholders, October 10 to December 28, 1928; an auditor's report, 1921; daily reports, July 2-October 20, 1928; deeds, 1917 and 1931; an inventory, 1928; ledger sheets, 1922-1930; and weekly statements, December 25, 1926-September 22, 1928.
