I. CORRESPONDENCE. Arranged chronologically, this series contains letters and interoffice memos regarding Playboy magazine's publication of articles.

  • Folder I

  • 4 Letters to and from James Goode at Playboy magazine in order to obtain magazine rights to the book Mirror of Venus by Fellini and Francoise Sagan (June-July, 1966).

  • 1 Interoffice memo (photocopied) regarding magazine rights to Mirror of Venus (July, 1966).

  • 2 Letters to and from associate editor James Goode at Playboy magazine about magazine rights to Mirror of Venus (July-August, 1966).

  • 2 Letters (both photocopied) to Fellini and Curtis pepper from associate editor John Gabree about Fellini's writing a Playboy magazine article on his thoughts regarding the supernatural (December, 1966).

  • 2 Interoffice memos at Playboy magazine regarding Fellini's writing of an article on his thoughts regarding the supernatural (1966-1967).

  • 5 Letters regarding Playboy magazine's publication of an article on Fellini's thoughts regarding the supernatural; one of the letters is from Fellini himself (1967).


  • Folder II

  • 5 Letters regarding Playboy magazine's publication of Fellini's reflections on his film Satyricon (1969); based on a previous interview with Fellini. The dates of the letters range from February to March, 1970; one of the letters is from Fellini himself.

II. WRITINGS. Contains typed copies of the article Playboy magazine was to publish regarding Fellini's thoughts on his film Satyricon (1969).


  • 1 Galley copy of the Playboy magazine article on the film Satyricon(1969), based on a previous interview with Fellini. The galley copy is from May, 1970. There is also a handwritten message on this copy from Fellini to his translator, Sally (Improta), telling her that the piece would have to be rewritten.

  • 1 Typescript photocopy of Fellini's revised article for Playboy magazine in Italian; signed by Fellini (May, 1970).
