The Jovanovich mss., ca. 1952-1984, consist of correspondence between publisher William Jovanovich and various authors published by Harcourt Brace Jovanovich including Jeannette Seaver, Drenka Willen and others regarding the publication by of Octavio Paz's work, Tiempo Nublado; correspondence between Jovanovich and Erich Maria Remarque, his wife and then widow, Paulette Goddard and others. Also included is a 300-page heavily-corrected typescript of The Night in Lisbon.
