LILLY LIBRARY RESEARCH GRANTS MSS.
The Lilly Library Research Grants mss., 1975-1977, consist of the correspondence and accounts of the Lilly Library small and summer grants program. They are arranged in the following file groups: Lilly Endowment - Shull; Lilly Library research grants - correspondence; Lilly Library research grants - program administration; Small grants - applications awarded; Small grants - applications denied; Small grants - rating sheets and memo to Cagle; Summer fellowships - awarded; Summer fellowships - denied.
The program began in 1975 for the purpose of bringing Indiana scholars to Bloomington to use the research resources of Lilly Library. It was funded by the Lilly Endowment of Indianapolis and administered through Indiana University's Office of Research and Graduate Development for a period of two and one-half years. A copy of the final report on the program is included among the "Lilly Endowment - Shull" files.
Copies of all applications as sent to the Lilly Library during the course of the program complete the collection.
