The Martin mss., 1892-1896, are letters and papers of Lewis B. Martin, 1841- , secretary and general manager of the Terre Haute Savings Bank, Terre Haute, Indiana, prominent member of the Masonic order and a Knight Templar.
They are principally letters, 1892-1896, to Martin as treasurer of the Diocese of Indianapolis of the Protestant Episcopal Church. Some bills, receipts and accounts, 1892- 1893, of the diocese are also included. There are also a few diocesan letter addressed to George A. Gagg.
Included also are some letters to Lewis B. Martin from Irvin Robbins, Adjutant general of the state of Indiana, most of them relating to an encampment of the Indiana National Guard in Terre Haute in July 1893.
