MAYCOX MSS.

The Maycox mss., 1994-1998, consists of notes and autographs of contemporary American poets solicited by and sent to John G. Maycox, poet and businessman of Cincinnati, Ohio. In some instances the poet merely returned the request letter with an autograph at the bottom. Several are accompanied by clippings and short biographical sketches also collected by Maycox. The files are in alphabetical order and include Maya Angelou, John Ashbery, Amiri Baraka, Marvin Bell, Edgar Bowers, Gwendolyn Brooks, David Budbill, James Dickey, Rita Dove, Irving Feldman, Nikki Giovanni, Louise Gluck, Linda Gregg, Donald Hall, Anthony Hecht, Edward Hirsch, Andrew Hudgins, Galway Kinnell, Denise Levertov, Philip Levine, Sandra McPherson, William Meredith, James Merrill, W.S. Merwin, Sharon Olds, Steve Orlen, Robert Perelman, Robert Pinsky, Charles Simic, William Snodgrass, Mark Strand, Richard Wilbur, and Alan Williamson. A copy of Maycox's third book of poems, Sunrise/Reflections, 1995, completes the collection.

The collection is arranged in alphabetical order by author.
