MESSICK MSS. III
The Messick mss. III, Jan. 7-March 15, 1946 and Jan. 6- March 22, 1947, consist of 112 original pen and ink drawings for the comic strip Brenda Starr by Dale Messick, 1906- , cartoonist.
The first group drawn in 1946 contains fifty-eight strips for the daily newspapers and is the story in which Brenda Starr first meets the "mystery man," Basil St. John.
The second group is the story of Haelo Angel drawn also for the daily papers and contains 54 strips. Strips for March 3-March 15 are lacking.
Each strip is dated with the month and day on which it appeared.

Additional drawings consist of 34 panels for Jan. 13-Mar. 6, 1948 and 72 panels for Jan. 1-Apr. 13, 1949. Both groups are incomplete.
