The Meynell mss., 1893-1913, consist primarily of letters from English author Katherine Douglas King, d.1901, to her mentor, author Wilfrid Meynell, 1852-1948. The two first met in 1893 so that the file covers virtually the entire period of their acquaintanceship, as well as of her writing career. There are also two letters to Meynell's wife, Alice (Thompson) Meynell, two letters to Meynell from Katherine's husband, Edmund Godfrey Burr, and nine letters from Katherine's mother, author Harriet Eleanor (Hamilton) King, 1840-1920.
Eight news cuttings, six of which review K. Douglas King's 1897 novel, Father Hilarion, complete the collection.
