NATIONAL BOOK AWARDS MSS.
The National Book Awards mss., 1950-1977, consist of announcements, press releases, publishers' author biographies and other printed materials relating to the National Book Awards. Also present are copies of the acceptance speeches of Arthur Meier Schlesinger, Jr., in 1966; Peter Gay, Justin Kaplan, Oscar Lewis, Gergory Rabassa, and Williard Trask, in 1967; Meindert DeJong, Robert J. Lifton and William Weaver, in 1969; and Francis Steegmuller, in 1971.
Photographs of several of the nominees and winners are filed by the year of the award nomination. These include Schlesinger, Kaplan, Lewis, Trask, DeJong, Lifton, Halo Calvino, Arnold Lobel, Saul Bellow and Steegmuller.
