Lilly Library Manuscript Collections


The Nettl mss., 1927-1967, consist of letters of Paul Nettl, 1889-1972, musicologist, during his residence at Westminster Choir College, Princeton, New Jersey, and at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, from composers, musicians and musicologists in the United States and Europe. The letters concern mutual friends, musical works and research, published and in preparation. Included are letters of recommendation for Nettl from Guido Adler, Alfred Einstein and Georg Szell.
