The Pinter mss., 20th cent., are three drafts of The Caretaker: A Play in Three Acts by Harold Pinter, 1930- , playwright.

Contents: [1] First draft. T.D. 50p. 25cm. Carries holograph additions and revisions. Differs considerably from final draft. [2] Second draft. T.D. 74p. 25cm. Carries holograph revisions and holograph and typewritten additions. Differs slightly from final draft. [3] Final draft. T.D. 88p. 25cm. A few holograph additions. Differs slightly from printed play under the same title. London, Encore Publishing Co. Ltd. [1960] (Lilly PR6031 .I5 C2 copy 2). In copy 2 the author has made, in his own hand, the slight amendments which were required. Originally produced at the Arts Theatre Club, a private club, April 27, 1960. On May 30th it was transferred to the Duchess Theatre, and required a license from the Lord Chamberlain for a public performance.

Included is the program of the production at The Arts Theatre Club, first performance, April 27, 1960; newspaper clipping of the review from the New York Times, October 5, 1961, of the performance in New York, and a program of the productions of the Indiana Theatre Company, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, June 30, July 1, and 2, 1967.
