The Pollock mss., ca. 1971-2007, consist of the notes, drafts and final manuscript of Nature, Man and God in Medieval Islam: 'Abd Allah Baydawi's text, Tawali' al-anwar min matali' al-anzar, along with Mahmud Isfahani's commentary, Matali' al-anzar, sharh Tawali' al-anwar, edited and translated by Edwin E. Calverley and James W. Pollock (Leiden: Brill, 2002). Also present is some correspondence relating to the long term translation project, taken on by James Pollock after Edwin Calverley's death in 1971, as well as some editorial and post publication correspondence, and copies of reviews of the two-volume work. The arrangement of the collection is as Dr. Pollock identified and maintained the materials: Professor Calverley's handwritten notes and draft translation are at the beginning of the collection, followed by several drafts and editings of the complete work concluding with correspondence relating to and reviews of the published work.
