REMAK MSS.
The Remak mss., 1946-1954, consist of letters and one postcard from author Thomas Mann, 1875-1955, to Indiana University Professor of Germanic Studies, Henry H.H. Remak. All are in German, all but the last are autograph, and all except the postcard are accompanied by envelopes.
Topics discussed include Stendahl's influence on Mann's writing and the characteristic he, Mann, most admired in Stendahl's writing; Goethe and German Romanticism; and the late nineteenth-century German novelist, Theodor Fontane.
