Lilly Library Manuscript Collections


The Ripley County, Indiana mss., 1890-1896, consist of copies of manuscripts collected for the preparation of a history of the county. These copies were sent to the Indiana University Library in 1932 by Violet E. Toph of Versailles, Indiana. There is a general folder and one of essays on the history of Ripley County, written by school children of the county. The rest of the material is arranged by townships, those represented being Brown, Center, Jackson, Johnson, Otter Creek, and Washington.
