SADLEIR MSS. III
The Sadleir mss. III, 1944 and 1946, consist of letters from author Michael Sadleir, 1888-1957, to writer and wine correspondent, John Arlott, 1914-1991. The 1944 letters, dated 7 March, 1 and 16 April, and 22 September, talk about various writing projects, especially Things Past and other Constable publications. The 18 and 24 December, 1946 items relate to Fanny By Gaslight, Sadleir's hopes for a friendly review in TLS, and some discussion of sources or origins of certain elements in the book.
