The Sherriff mss., 1931-1951, consist of correspondence from playwright Robert Cedric Sherriff, 1896-1975, or one of his secretaries on his behalf, with the League of Dramatists division of the Society of Authors. Topics covered are primarily annual dues payments, excuses for not attending committee meetings, or payments that Sherriff presumably owes to the League when his plays are performed. The final letter in the collection is Sherriff's resignation from the League and the Society of Authors.
Clippings of reviews of Sherriff's 1950 play, "Home at Seven," and one about his home, Rosebriars, complete the collection.
