The Soupart mss., 1916-1918, 1938-1940, consist primarily of letters to Sylvia Soupart, -1959, an English teacher at Bloomington High School, 1912-1920, from members of the armed forces in World War I. Most of the correspondents were former students of Soupart at Bloomington High. Also present are letters from Theodule Beck, a Belgian soldier and cousin of Soupart who writes in French, and Charles Biname, - 1918, a Belgian soldier and friend of Beck. Other correspondents are: Paul E. Davis, Andrew Hepburn, Charles J. Jones, Paul T. McNabb, Kenneth C. May, Hallock Ratliff, Marion Clinton Rogers, Harry P. Schultz, Samuel W. Seaney, Clyde Edward Snoddy, Sylvia Soupart, Charles Frederic Thompson, Clifford Wells, and Frank A. White. The two items from 1938-1940 are letters from G. Hubot Biname, sister of Charles Biname.
A few printed items, including two issues of The Dauphine Doughboy, Mar. 8 and 22, 1919, a YMCA sponsored newspaper published in Grenoble for the benefit of US soldiers on leave in that region of France, complete the collection.
