TAYMUR MSS.

The Taymûr mss., ca. 1929–1953, consist of mostly short stories by Mahmûd Taymûr (1894– ) one of the most influential Arabic writers of the 20th century. He also wrote plays and literary criticism. Two of his works: Tales from Egyptian Life (1949) and The Call of the Unknown (1964) have been translated into English.

The collection includes autograph stories written in Arabic and 12 typescript French translations. Also present is an autographed letter dated 12–4–31, a signed photograph, a four–page autographed list of stories with comments, and various printed materials.
