VIDOCQ MSS.
The Vidocq mss., 1833-1847, consist of the correspondence and documents of French police officer Eugene-Francois Vidocq, 1775-1857, who founded the first private detective agency in 1832 in Paris. The collection concerns the business of this agency, including bills for services rendered and reports by Vidocq to his clients.
