WINSTON MSS.
The Winston mss., ca. 1998–2008, consist of drafts of translations of German literature, by Krishna Winston, Professor of German at Wesleyan University. Winston has done translations of the works of Günter Grass and Peter Handke among others. She credits her passion for translation to her parents, Richard and Clara Winston. In addition to the Kurt Wolff Prize, she has been the recipient of the Schlegel–Tieck translation prize twice. Her areas of expertise also include 20th–century German and Austrian drama and fiction and Thomas Mann.
