This list gives the collection name, date range and number of items in a collection followed by a very brief description of the contents of the collection. All of these collections are related to twentieth-century American politics.

- Official papers of U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Joseph Walker Barr. The papers refer to legislation relating to the Asian Development Bank, campaign contributions, gold and the balance of payments, interest rates for savings and loan institutions, international development institutions, participation sales, truth-in-lending, and reports covering transition from the Johnson to the Nixon administration.

S. embassies in Spain and Chile. Topics discussed in the correspondence include the Spanish Civil War, Communist and German activities in South America, Peron's influence in Latin America, Chilean economy and politics, life in Madrid and Washington, D.C., and United States, Indiana, and Terre Haute politics.

It deals with the Lake Shore Harbor, Dunes National Park, prayer in public schools, civil rights, state and federal taxes, military appointments, political campaigns, and Halleck's battle with Gerald R. Ford for the position of minority leader.

- Papers of Paul Vories McNutt, 1891-1955, lawyer, governor of Indiana, and federal official. The collection contains McNutt's files dating from his entrance to high school in 1905 up to the time he became governor in 1933; selected papers from his post- gubernatorial career, relating particularly to his service in the Philippines; and an extensive collection of his speeches.

- Papers of John Joseph O'Connor, 1885-1960, congressman from New York. There are letters and notes on bills before Congress, correspondence with constituents and others, speeches, veterans' claims, early papers relating to law cases, personal correspondence, and financial materials.

- Letters and papers of Boyd Mercer Kerr Ralston, 1860-1944, realtor of Indianapolis, Indiana, and brother of governor of Indiana Samuel Moffett Ralston. Affiliated with the Democratic Party, B.M.K. Ralston became engaged in securing a Democratic Club home in 1908-1909 and in revitalizing the party organization - an activity which extended throughout his career. In 1921, Ralston became the Democratic candidate for mayor of Indianapolis, but lost the election to his Republican opponent, former mayor Samuel Lewis Shank. The collection contains letters of support for his campaign.

- Papers of Jennie (Craven) Ralston, 1862-1954, first lady of Indiana, wife of Samuel Moffett Ralston. From 1934 to 1953, she was the Democratic National Committeewoman from Indiana. The manuscripts consist of letters from prominent political figures, friends, family members, poetry, prose writings, and speeches by Jennie (Cravens) Ralston.

- Papers of George Washington Rauch, 1876-1940, congressman from Marion, Indiana, who represented the eleventh district from 1907- 1917. In 1926 and 1924, he was the unsuccessful candidate for the nomination of U. S. senator from Indiana on the Democratic ticket. The collection consists of correspondence, speeches, and scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, 1908-1921.

- Papers of John Edward Roush, b. 1920, congressman from Indiana. The papers consist of correspondence covering Indiana projects, legislative history, and national projects. The collection also includes speeches and printed material.

- Papers of William Sulzer, 1863-1941, lawyer, member of the New York State Legislature, U. S. congressman, and governor of New York. Included are letters, telegrams, pamphlets and newspaper clippings related mainly to politics and to Sulzer's private affairs. The political materials relate largely to the election of 1928 and show Sulzer to be anti-Al Smith, anti-Catholic, and a prohibitionist.
