This list gives the collection name, date range and number of items in a collection followed by a very brief description of the contents of the collection. All of these collections are related to theater and drama.
ALBEE MSS.- DATE RANGE: 1961

- The Albee mss. consist of two mimeographed stage scripts for The American Dream and The Death of Bessie Smith, one act plays by dramatist Edward Albee.
DATE RANGE: 1959- The Arden mss. are three plays written by English playwright John Arden.

- The Bond mss. consist of six drafts of Saved by author Edward Bond.
- DATE RANGE: 1937-1980

- The Calder and Boyars mss. consist of the files of the British publishing firm specializing in avant-garde literature and drama. Correspondence, manuscripts and production materials are present for the Playscript series. Some of the playwrights represented are: Edward Bond, Samuel Beckett, Roland Dubillard, Marguerite Duras and David Mowat.

- The Ervine mss. consist of correspondence and writings of St. John Greer Ervine, playwright and critic.

- The Fanto mss. consist of correspondence, film and theater production materials, photographs, and clippings pertaining to the work of Orson Welles and George Fanto. Fanto was a cameraman who worked with Welles. Included is a script for the play Time Runs.

- The Golden mss. are plays of dramatist and educator William Echard M. Golden.

- The Grimaldi mss. consist of the extra illustrations for The Memoirs of Joseph Grimaldi, edited by Charles Dickens. Joseph Grimaldi was considered the greatest clown of his day, performing at such prominent theaters as Drury Lane, Sadler's Wells and Theatre Royal, Covent Garden. These are in Charles Dickens's The Memoirs of Joseph Grimaldi (Lilly PR4572 .M5 copy 2, 4 vols.)

- The Mrs. S.A. Haldeman mss. consist of the personal correspondence and papers of banker Sarah Alice (Addams) Haldeman. Present are letters from her daughter, Anna Marcet Haldeman from when she was studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and later as an actress.

- The Jellicoe mss. consist of drafts, notes, clippings, and a program of The Sport of My Mad Mother by playwright and director Ann Jellicoe.

- The Jennings mss. are the papers of John Kaley Jennings, WPA administrator. Of particular interest is a videotape of WPA films which contains some footage of the WPA Federal Theater production of Macbeth directed by Orson Welles.

- The W.S. Johnson mss. are letters to printer William Spencer Johnson from actors, actresses, artists and others. Johnson was the leading theatrical printer of the period and also, apparently invested money in theatrical productions. He was on intimate terms with many people in the theater world and his letters reflect this.

- The Matthews mss. are the typescripts of plays and scenarios by dramatist Arthur Kenward Matthews. Most of his works were comedies; others were libretti for musical comedies.

- The Moody mss. consist of correspondence files and manuscripts of Indiana University professor of theater and drama, Richard Moody.

- The National Theatre Conference mss. are the papers of past presidents, executive secretary and treasurer of the Conference.

- The Norvelle collection consist of the papers of Lee Roy Norvelle, Professor Emeritus of Speech and Theater at Indiana University. The correspondence is primarily with theater people and former students who have become prominent in theater or television. Also included is the producer's copy of the play Lincoln in Indiana adapted by Norvelle and produced by Norvelle at IU in 1959.

- The Odets mss. consist of the personal and professional papers of playwright Clifford Odets. Included is correspondence; diaries and calendars; material pertaining to Group Theatre; notes/research materials; scripts, notes, production materials, photographs pertaining to plays and films; television materials; and business/financial materials.

- The Pinero mss. are mainly letters from Sir Arthur Wing Pinero, dramatist to Sir George Alexander, actor, manager, about his own plays but they also comment on other personal matters.

- The Pinter mss. are three drafts of The Caretaker: A Play in Three Acts by playwright Harold Pinter.
- DATE RANGE: 1890-1901

- The Pyke mss. consist of letters from Mary Moore, Alfred Piatti, Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree, and Sir Charles Wyndham to Joseph Pyke. Most of the letters concern the building of a new theater as well as hotels in Switzerland and the Riviera.

- The Reynolds mss. consist of positive photostats of letters, notes, and telegrams from playwright George Bernard Shaw to Paul Revere Reynolds, literary agent, who represented Shaw in the U.S. They relate to the sale of publication rights and to the copyrighting in the U.S. of Shaw's works.

- The Scammon mss. are the papers of Richard Lewis Scammon, Professor Emeritus of Theater and Drama at Indiana University. Included are correspondence files, student and class records, photographs, sketches and drawings for costumes, set and stage designs for numerous University Theater productions.

- The Scrimgeour mss. consist of the correspondence and manuscripts of author Gary James Scrimgeour. Of particular interest are essays and writings about 19th century drama and dramatists prepared by Scrimgeour in the 1970s for an unrealized publication series.

- The Stock mss. are papers on the theater collected by Keith Lievesley Stock, former under secretary, Department of Economics. They consist mainly of correspondence and autographs of actors, actresses, dramatists, managers, musicians, and other persons connected with the 19th and early 20th-century English theater.

- The Vezin mss. are writings of Hermann Vezin, actor and playwright.

- The Weldon mss. consist of the papers of British author and playwright Fay Weldon. Weldon has written novels, short stories, and scripts for the stage, radio and television.

- The Welles mss. consist of the correspondence and papers of actor, writer, producer and director Orson Welles. There is a great deal of material pertaining to the theater work of Welles.

- The White mss. consist of the correspondence, writings, and memorabilia of William Anthony Parker White, critic, editor and writer. Parker is most widely known by his pseudonym Anthony Boucher. Included in the collection are some plays written by White.

- The S.C. Woodward mss. consist of correspondence, autographs and pictures of actors, actresses, managers, dramatists, musicians, and other persons connected with the theater from the collection of journalist Sidney C. Woodward. The persons represented are principally from England and the U.S.

- The Young mss. consist of prompt scripts, ground plans and elevations, light plots, sound plots and tape recordings, property and costume plots, and printed playbills for twenty- seven New York stage productions.
