Evans Jenkins Award 2013: Call for Nominations
The William Evans Jenkins Award 2013
Committee hereby invites you to identify and
nominate potential candidates for the 2013 award.
Named for William Evans Jenkins, former
Chief Librarian of Indiana University, this award
may be presented annually to
a current
or former librarian on the Bloomington
campus, in recognition of their
outstanding contributions to the Indiana
University Libraries or to the library profession
in general. While eligibility for the award
is limited to former and current Bloomington
campus librarians,
nominations may be
made by any member of the Indiana University
community.
Outstanding Bloomington Library Faculty
colleagues deserve our recognition and
appreciation. William Evans Jenkins should
be remembered for his vision for the Indiana
University Libraries and his commitment to the
profession as a whole. By nominating a
librarian you admire and respect, you are keeping
the memory of William Evans Jenkins alive and
inspiring others to perform at the highest
level. Nominations for this award may be
submitted individually or jointly.
How to submit:
1. An "intent to nominate"
message must be sent to Betty Davis (
betdavis@indiana.edu) by November 30, 2012.

We are pleased to announce that Julie Ranz
has accepted the position of Advancement
Associate, effective November 14, 2012. With
over ten years of project management and event
coordination experience, she brings a wealth of
knowledge and expertise. We are thrilled to
have her join our Advancement team. Please
join us in welcoming Julie!

Andrew Asher has accepted the Assessment
Librarian position effective January 21.
Andrew received his Bachelor's Degree in
Anthropology from Northwestern University and both
his Master's Degree and PhD in Anthropology
from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. Andrew has worked for the
Bertrand Library at Bucknell University in
Lewisburg, PA since 2010, first as a Council on
Library and Information Resources (CLIR) Scholarly
Communications Fellow and most recently as the
Digital Initiates Coordinator and Scholarly
Communication Officer. Prior to working at
Bucknell University, Andrew served as the Lead
Research Anthropologist for the
Ethnographic Research in Illinois Academic
Libraries (ERIAL) Project where he was
responsible for research design, data analysis,
and the coordination and training of institutional
research teams for the project, a five-university
study examining how students conduct academic
research and utilize library resources. He
has also acted as a Consulting Research
Anthropologist for Illinois Wesleyan University
(ongoing) and the Council on Library and
Information Resources in Washington, DC.

Kelsey Horne has accepted the position of
Monograph Acquisitions Coordinator in Technical
Services effective November 19, 2012. Kelsey
most recently worked as a Librarian Assistant,
Team Leader for Government Information here at the
Wells Library. Additionally, Kelsey has
bookstore management experience, which included
all of the acquisitions activities for the
store. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in
English Literature from Brigham Young University
and a Master of Library Science from Indiana
University. Please join me in welcoming
Kelsey to the Libraries!
