Ultrasonic
welder
This is the tool used to weld
pieces of mylar together to make encapsulating enclosures for flat
materials. Its tip generates ultrasound, which has an effect similar to
that of heat, in that it fuses two pieces of mylar along a very narrow
and controlled line.
