We are ready to add our first signature to the stack. Again, sewing begins at the hole on the end, going in. This stitch is our first kettle stitch, the stitch that fastens signatures together at the ends. The kettle stitch marks the point at which the stitching moves from one signature to the next; it represents the last stitch for one signature and the first stitch for the next.
