Stitching begins with the same in/out as always, but the lock stitch that follows differs a bit from the row we just did, in that we will be hooking under the already-locked stitches of the most recent previous signature and the 2nd most recent previous signature (which in this case is the end sheet).

The following will be the same from now until the very last stitch:

* we want to hook our needle under the upper radius on the far side of the X.

Here we are headed to the right, so we want to hook under the upper right radius of the X. In the next row of stitching we will be headed to the left, so we will want to hook under the upper left radius. This pattern continues throughout the remainder of the text block as the direction of the stitching alternates with each signature.
