We are now ready to complete our first kettle stitch. Like the lock stitches we just finished, the kettle stitch will also be locked together.

First, the needle is hooked under the loop of the most recent kettle stitch. That would be the one indicated by the red arrow in the earlier slide. (If you want to review it, click here, then use your browser's "Back" button to get back here when finished.)

This will always be the loop bridging two previous signatures, the most recent one and the 2nd most recent one (which is in this case the end sheet).
