  • Handbook of Texas Online - A multidisciplinary encyclopedia of Texas history, geography, and culture. It comprises more than 23,000 articles on people, places, events, historical themes, institutions, and a host of other topic categories.
  • Public Record Databases - Search for public records mostly from the United States; also includes the rest of the world. Search by keyword or browse by topic or state. Topics include banking, courts, military, most wanted, recalls, schools/colleges, census, missing children/persons, etc.
  • State and Local Government on the Net - A directory of websites of statewide offices, the legislative branch, the judicial branch, the executive branch, boards and commissions, regional, county, city, town, libraries, and other. Browsable by state.
  • Stateline.org - Current news and past news items on state government; statistical data and background information for every state. Also, contains updated data tables and tracks developments for major political issues. By the Pew Center on the States.
  • Vital Records Information Index - information about where to obtain vital records (birth, marital, and death records) from each state, territory and county of the United States
