  • Thomas Register of American Manufacturers - Information on industrial products and services of 173,000 U.S. and Canadian companies in 52,000 categories; company profiles and catalog files. Requires free registration. Check IUCAT for older holdings. Also try ThomasNet, no log-in required.
  • US Patent and Trademark Office - The database includes full-text information about all US patents (including utility, design, reissue, plant patents and SIR documents) from the first patent issued in 1790 to the most recent week.
