Selected Single-Subject Sources for Book Reviews

Before going to the trouble of looking for subject-specific sources, be sure to try the general sources.

Bibliographies and periodical indexes exist on practically every topic, and most of them include book reviews. The ones listed here are either devoted entirely to book reviews, or have a separate section of book reviews, or include full text. A few of them, Business Source, ERIC and Library Literature, are useful for a variety of other subjects, including textbooks and children's books.

Other bibliographies and indexes can be located by searching in a library catalog under "[subject]--bibliography" or "[subject]--abstracts" or "[subject]--periodicals--indexes." For example, in IUCAT, enter a search like: "s=linguistics--periodicals--indexes".
