Encyclopedias in English and Other Languages
All students, faculty and staff at IU Bloomington have a complete set of
the Encyclopedia Britannica (called
Britannica Online) available on the Internet with the subscription entered
by the Library. The Britannica is the only major encyclopedia available
over the network
right now, but there are thousands of other encyclopedias in
the Bloomington Libraries, including both general and subject
encyclopedias, in English and other languages.
Here are mentioned only a few of the great multi-volume
general encyclopedias, in
English and in other languages, found in the Reference
Reading Room in the Main Library. To find other general encyclopedias and
specific subject encyclopedias, you can search
IUCAT or the card catalog.
