A MARS (Machine Assisted Reference Section of the Reference and Adult Services Division of the American Library Association) Task Force is investigating how MARS might recognize fee-based databases with awards. Given the universe of resources to consider, we need to recommend a manageable project for a committee to undertake. The Task Force is considering recognizing three categories of databases: Database of the year Most improved database Unsung or the best resource you never heard of Does activity fit the mission of MARS?
