If there is a search you do regularly, and you want to go back to it
quickly, you can bookmark it. First make all the necessary selections and
click on Search. If the search result is satisfactory to you, simply add
it to your Favorites. Next time, just go to your Favorites and choose your
link, and the same search will be generated. You can create multiple
Favorites for multiple searches. Just change the name of each of your
bookmarks.
If you want to share your selection(s) and the search results with others
by giving them a URL that includes all the selections you have made, you
may consider creating canned searches. To do so, find a web page of your
own, copy the urls you have generated for your searches and paste them to
your web page. You can then share the web page with others, bypassing
the entry point of the New Titles in IUB Libraries web site.
Here are a few examples of canned searches:
-
titles in Life Sciences Library
- All the records appear in one page,
with the number of hits per screen set to 500.
-
titles with call number beginning with P in the Reference Dept
- All records appear in one page, with the number of hits per screen set to 100.
-
titles in Arabic
- A simple limit by language. No other selections are made.
-
titles in French, call # starts with PQ, in Research Coll. Stacks
- Number of hits per screen could be set higher to retrieve more records in one page.
