Music
Music was exciting, controversial, diverse. Rock ‘n’ roll went psychedelic. Cream disbanded, but Led Zeppelin formed. Popular music was exploding all around the world—in Latin America and Africa as well as Europe and the US. Rock, soul, folk, country, even classical music all hit the charts. Music was political, controversial, and relevant. Today, there are literally hundreds of books and articles devoted to the aesthetics, impact, and significance of sixties music. Today you can take courses on the history of rock ‘n’ roll in the School of Music with Glenn Gass, but here you can dip into the original 1968 experience.
