Liberian National Archives
Liberian National Archives, Monrovia, Liberia

The purpose-built National Archives was constructed during the 1980s in the suburb  of Sinkor. It was looted & partially destroyed early in the Civil War of the 1990s. Professor Elwood Dunn reports that National Archives’ employees & other Liberians cognizant of the value of the materials collected & returned some of the documents to a basement  office in the Old Executive Mansion opposite the current Memorial Pavilion in downtown Monrovia.
