CONOVER-PORTER AWARD

Africana librarians recognize biennially outstanding contributions to Africanist bibliography or reference works. The Conover-Porter Award is presented by the Africana Librarians Council of the (US) African Studies Association every even-numbered year. The award created in 1980 honors two pioneers in African Studies bibliography, Helen F. Conover, of the Library of Congress, and Dorothy B. Porter, of Howard University. Winners receive a cash award of $300.
