PERCY FITZPATRICK AWARD


Established in 1974, this award now is given biennially to the author of a children's book written in English. This award commemorates Fitzpatrick (1862-1931), the author of Jock of the Bushveldt (1913) which was set in South Africa. Until 1997, the South African Committee for Children's Books administered the award. The author must live in South Africa and the book must be published in South Africa.
