AFRICAN STUDIES COLLECTION

SCHEEPERS PRIZE

In 1956, the South African Academy of Science and Arts established the Scheepers Prize for Youth Literature. A monetary prize and charter to the S.A. Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns is given in recognition of excellence in young people's literature to authors of Afrikaans. The prize is awarded every three years.
