Book Reviews: Subject-Specific Sources
Before going to the trouble of looking for subject-specific sources, be
sure to try the general
sources.
Bibliographies and periodical indexes exist on practically every topic,
and most of them include book reviews. The ones listed here are either
devoted entirely to book reviews, or have a separate section of book
reviews, or include full text. A few of them, Business
Source, ERIC
and Library
Literature, are useful for a variety of other subjects, including
textbooks and children's books.
To find other electronic indexes for
specific subjects, search or browse the
Libraries'
Find Information page. Additional bibliographies and indexes can
also be located by searching in the library catalog under "[subject] bibliography" or "[subject] abstracts"
or "[subject] periodicals indexes." For example, in IUCAT, enter "linguistics periodicals indexes"
in the search box, and click on
.
Consult reference
staff, or subject
librarians for further assistance.
