Team 5

Your assignments relate to Psychology, the theme of Week 3. It will be MUCH easier to do these assignments if you do the IUCAT tutorial first!

Reference Reading Room: Look at Mental Measurements Yearbook (call number Z5814.P8 B91). Find something interesting and photocopy it. OR look up a topic related to this class in A Dictionary of Psychology (call number BF31 .C65 2001) or another dictionary or encyclopedia of psychology in this area.

Bring to class: a photocopy or your notes from the dictionary or encyclopedia.

Research Collections Stacks: find and check out a book by a famous psychologist or psychiatrist OR find and check out a older book about psychology (from the 1960s or earlier). Remember to try to find something you can use for one of the other assignments in this IFS.

Bring to class: a book.

Kent Cooper Reading Room: find the most recent issues of Psychology Today (journals and magazines are in alphabetical order in the Kent Cooper Room). Browse until you find an article that relates to your IFS readings or your Critical Essay. You can photocopy the article (make sure you get all the information you need to cite it) or use the "Find Information" web page to find the article electronically and print it out.

Bring to class: a photocopy or print-out

Government Publications and Microforms: find something published by the U.S. Government relating to psychology. Ask the librarians there to help you. The publication might be online--that's fine.

Bring to class: a government publication, or a print-out from IUCAT, or a print-out of the first page of an online government publication.

"Find Information" web page (www.libraries.iub.edu/findinfo): search PsycInfo (a database of psychology journals) for an article relevant to one of your other assignments in this ISF. ( Here's where to find PsycInfo).

Bring to class: a print-out from PsycInfo.
