New Database Available:

AnthroSource provides the complete full-text of all peer-reviewed journals, newsletters, and bulletins published by the American Anthropological Association through 2003. In addition, it gives full-text articles to current issues (2004-present) of 11 peer-reviewed AAA journals. These include: American Anthropologist, American Ethnologist, Anthropology & Education Quarterly, Anthropology & Humanism, Archaeological Publications of the American Anthropological Association (AP3A), Cultural Anthropology, Ethos, Journal of Linguistic Anthropology, Medical Anthropology Quarterly, National Association for the Practice of Anthropology (NAPA) Bulletin, and PoLAR: The Political and Legal Anthropology Review.

To access AnthroSource, go to the IUB Libraries' Find Information web page. Search for it by title, or click on the Anthropology subject link. It can also be accessed from the Anthropology Collections web page under "Recommended Resources."

New Acquisitions:

Wiley Interscience Genetics and Evolution Backfile Collection:

The Wiley InterScience Genetics and Evolution Backfile Collection contains more than 92 years of digitized back-issue content from 12 journals. It comprises journals that pursue genetics both as a basic science and as an applied science (expanding into paleontology, archaeology, forensics, etc.) that has integrated all biological disciplines. Titles include: American Journal of Human Biology, American Journal of Medical Genetics Parts A & B, American Journal of Physical Anthropology, American Journal of Primatology, Evolutionary Anthropology: Issues, News, and Reviews, Genetic Epidemiology, Human Mutation, International Journal of Osteoarchaeology, Journal of Experimental Zoology, Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Research Reviews, Teratology, and Zoo Biology.

Dakota Conflict of 1862: Manuscript Collection:
E99.D1 D325 2001, Government Information Microfilm Statistical Services

This microfilm compilation is comprised of 144 small collections of letters, reminiscences, reports, and diaries dealing with Minnesota's Dakota Conflict and related events of 1862-1865. Detailing primarily the personal experiences of both white and Indian participants and witnesses, these collections cover raids and killings, construction of fortifications, hostages' experiences, the execution of Mankato of 36 Dakotas, and the Sibley and Sully punitive expeditions into western Minnesota and Dakota Territory.
