A distinction is no longer made in the language code for Moldavian written in the Cyrillic script and Moldavian written in the roman script. The language code for this language is "rum" (Romanian), regardless of the script. The code "mol," formerly used for Moldavian written in the Cyrillic script will be eliminated from the next edition of the MARC Code List for Languages and should no longer be used.
