Wylie House Gift Shop

Wylie House has a very small gift shop located on the second floor of the museum. There visitors may buy Wylie House Seeds, hand-turned wooden rolling pins, darning eggs and dibbles, hand-pieced pin cushions, gift cards and bookmarks made from pressed flowers from our garden, books on saving seed and heirloom gardening, dried flower bouquets, and other gifts that reflect 19th century life and Wylie House.

Wylie House: Music from the Parlor Cover
Wylie House: Music from the Parlor
A favorite gift choice is "Wylie House: Music from the Parlor," a CD of period music performed on the fortepiano that belonged to the Wylie family, produced in 2001. The selections include both classical pieces and popular music of the mid-nineteenth century with a few vocal selections as well. Performers are Sophia Travis, Carla Williams, Diane Reich and Rebeckah Valentine.

The Wylie House: Preserving Our Past
A video documentary, entitled The Wylie House: Preserving Our Past, was produced in 2001 by Indiana University Television/WTIU in association with Wylie House Museum, which is part of the IU-Bloomington Libraries. This video is for sale in the gift shop as well.
Affectionately Yours
Also available are two volumes of transcribed personal letters written by the Andrew Wylie family, called Affectionately Yours. Volume I consists of letters written by Dr. Wylie and his children between the years 1828 and 1959. Volume II consists of letters written by the children between the years 1860 and 1918. Totaling more than 300, the letters give us great insight into this loving and close-knit family.

Please stop by the Museum during normal business hours to browse and purchase items in the gift shop. Or contact us via phone or e-mail about specific items.
