Given our limited resources, it is unlikely that a first year graduate student will receive financial aid from the Department. If you wish to be considered for support, we will, of course, nominate you for all IU fellowships that may be appropriate, although you should understand that these are extremely competitive. You should also pursue all opportunities for externally funded fellowships.
