Collins Storytelling Project

Give to Collins

As we all know, times are hard.  Increasingly, active Collins students struggle to find the funds needed to stay.  To help, we have set up a scholarship.  We were able to give scholarships to three students last year as a direct result of your generosity.

If you are able to do so, please consider supporting this initiative by donating to the Ralph Collins Living-Learning Center Educational Fund.

Alumni Visitors

Chris Cokinos, Collins alumnus and Whiting-award winning writer, gave a reading and did a workshop with students.

Steve Volan, along with another Bloomington City Councilman, led an informational forum about issues in the November election.

Julie Rawe visited the Collins Storytelling Project.

Kristen Murphy led the "History of Magic" fireside chat during Hogwarts Week.

Owen Sutkowski will be returning to Collins to talk about life after Collins on Jan. 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Coffeehouse.

Do you want to come back to Collins?  Email to let us know what you'd like to do.

Q199 Project Award

Candace Bertotti and Ellen Goldberg, two Collins alumni, came together and hit upon a great idea for how to give back--by offering awards to students with exemplary Q projects.  Collins’ scholarship committee will examine the applications to determine which projects best fit the criteria.

Dickens Dinner 2010!

One of Collins' four traditional annual events, the Dickens Dinner, brings out the holiday spirit in students, as they dress up and feast with their instructors and professors.

See photographs of the evening here.

Collins Storytelling Project

Collins students Will Mruzek and Barton Girdwood, the vice-chair of Arts Council, organized a project where students, alumni, and community members were invited to tell their stories.
It was recorded and broadcast on WFHB's broadcast of "The Porch Swing."
Read more about the project here.
You can listen to episodes of "The Porch Swing" here.

Send in your updates!

We'd love to hear what you're doing now.  Send your updates, so we can post them on our alumni update blog.
