All facilities are centrally located on the IU campus, near the HPER gym, Indiana Memorial Union, and recreational fields.
Residents can also take advantage of Collins resources, such as the Clubhouse, Collins Library, and other facilities
Regardless of which building you live in, you will be a part of the lively community fostered at Collins.
The Main Quad: Three buildings, Edmondson, Cravens, and Smith, make up the beautiful main quad at the corner of 10th Street and Woodlawn Avenue. They include single, double, and triple rooms. Special facilities in the quad include the Collins Dining Hall, the Cheshire Café, a large formal lounge, the Coffeehouse, classrooms, and offices.
The Hill: The Collins community extends beyond the frequently pictured
Gothic
buildings on the Quad. Many new and returning residents who choose singles for their living arrangement may live in Greene or Brown--or “The Hill”--just a block away. These adjacent buildings feature a well-supported computer lab and the Collins Clubhouse (comprising many of the arts studios, a cinema, game room, and kitchen with group dining area). The photo darkroom, video-editing lab, audio production facilities, and textiles studio all occupy brand new facilities here.
Hillcrest: The Hillcrest Apartments, a few blocks from the Quad on 10th and Woodlawn, provide more independent living. Students who have lived at Collins for at least one year may apply to live in Hillcrest. It’s one of the ways we encourage older students to stay on as community leaders and mentors to our freshmen. In addition to a larger living space, Hillcrest residents have kitchens in their apartments. However, they are required to purchase at least a partial meal plan so they continue to dine with the other residents in Edmondson.
